Block Party

Block Party was a group project for our Design and Visual Communication Capstone and I worked with fellow designers Jayce Van De Veer, Leksi Craig, Cindy Carmona, and Sierra Schuler. The entire semester we focused on the idea of equity in our city, and each group in the class created a project around this idea. Milwaukee has such a rich culture, so my group wanted to focus on celebrating that and bringing the community together through food. Our idea for doing this was to have an event highlighting local restaurant owners, from all different cultures in all 13 neighborhoods of Milwaukee. The event would be in Milwaukee’s Lake Park, and would be set up as a sort of “little Milwaukee” with all the neighborhoods being represented. My teammates and I all had input in all aspects of the project and worked together to create the many different elements all working off of the brand guidelines we developed for this event. After we all developed the branding together, I mainly was in charge of the website mockups, some merch, and an event poster, which I mocked up as a window installation. This was an amazing collaborative experience and I loved working with a team to create a complete concept!
